WesBell DLO (Diesel Locomotive) cable contains tinned copper strands and is dual insulated with EPR / CPE insulation. The double layer of insulation adds protection for severe outdoor conditions for mining and Earth moving equipment installations. DLO cable is also used in shipyards and as motor leads, but mostly serves in diesel electric locomotives. It’s rated for 2,000 volts and 90C.

What Is a DLO Cable?
When DLO cables were first invented, they were exclusive to diesel-electric locomotives, hence their name. As time went on, they became a sound cable choice for multiple diesel applications.
The definitive features of DLO cables are their double insulation and tinned copper conductor. The EPR/CPE insulation provides a strong abrasion- and corrosion-resistant coating, while the thin conductor offers flexibility. The tinned nature of the copper makes it easy to apply lugs.
Every DLO cable comes with a 2000-volt rating, and they exist in multiple sizes to fit your needs. Take a look at our full selection of DLO cables for more options.
What Cable Do You Need for Your Application?
When choosing the proper cable for your machine or operation, you need to consider a few main factors. These specifications include:
- Voltage: Anything that carries electricity has a voltage requirement, which denotes the force needed to create the electrical current. Complying with voltage needs keeps your machine efficient.
- Current: Keep your equipment safe and functional by sticking to amp requirements. If you use the DLO-4, you should not exceed 140 amps.
- Environment: Cables that have to work in rough conditions need to be able to withstand various substances. DLO cables are resistant to oil, acid, heat and sunlight, making them ideal for demanding environments.
