DLO 262 MCM
$10.69 / ft.
WesBell DLO (Diesel Locomotive) cable contains tinned copper strands and is dual insulated with EP / CPE insulation. The double layer of insulation adds protection for severe outdoor conditions for mining and earthmoving equipment installations. DLO cable is also used in shipyards and as motor leads but is mainly employed in diesel electric locomotives. It’s rated for 2,000 volts and 90C.
The 262 DLO cable diameter is 1 inch, making it a middle ground for available DLO cable sizes. It has a relatively strong current capacity and can work for many operations demanding high amperage capacity.

Designed specifically for diesel-electric locomotive use, these cables have transitioned to other diesel-based applications over time. We produce multiple DLO cable diameters with the same construction, including a double EPR and CPE insulation with a tinned copper conductor.
The double insulation gives these cables immense strength and versatility, making them ideal for harsh conditions. The tinned coating on the copper strands makes lug application easy, while the strands themselves introduce excellent flexibility.
Always rated at 2,000 volts, these cables come in a range of sizes to fit your application. Check out our selection of DLO cables for different sizing options.
Factors to Consider Before Buying Cable
Choosing the right wire or cable relies on the specifications and electrical needs of your machinery. The 262 MCM DLO cable has a specific set of features, and they need to match the operation of your equipment for optimal function and safety. Before purchasing a cable, you should understand:
- Current capacity: Amperage capacity is crucial to the safety of your operation. Make sure your cable can withstand the electrical current needs of your machinery.
- Voltage: While ampacity describes electrical current, voltage describes the force needed to move that current. How many volts does your machine require to run? Make sure your cable selection aligns with this need for smooth function.
- Environment: Depending on where they see use, wires and cables may have to endure some harsh conditions. Weather like rain and direct sunlight and other potential risks like acid exposure and fire can hurt the cable if it’s not well insulated. The outer material of your cable should be strong enough to handle its environment.
