Electrical Wire

Electrical wire and cable is a high volume item for WesBell Electronics. This article only discusses the THHN single conductor electrical wire, so you should see our Romex and UF-B Cable (underground cable) if you're looking for the multi-conductor cables. Our electrical wire can be used indoors or outdoors, but if need direct burial speak to someone on our sales team about fitting you with the correct wire or cable.

All of the THHN we sell is dual rated THHN and THWN. A lot of electricians require the THWN for a specific job and the cost of adding that approval is minimal so we always have the dual rated version in stock. WesBell allows you to buy the exact length you need because we understand that you need to minimize waste for each job. We ship everything same or next day after ordering from New Hampshire so it’s never more than 5-6 days before getting the wire. WesBell also offers FREE shipping on orders over $250.00 to anywhere in the continental USA.

THHN Electrical Wire is a 600 Volt PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) wire with a nylon coating for easy installation into conduit or tray. It’s rated for 90°C and has UL approvals. It’s made from soft drawn bare copper with only 19 copper strands to make sure it’s stiff enough to push easily through conduit or tray.

Romex Wire is very similar because it’s the THHN/THWN conductors with an over all PVC jacket so that you can send 2-3 conductors with a ground wire through conduit at once. Romex wire is only used indoors though, so if you need an outdoor / underground cable then you should see the UF-B Cable. It has a better jacket to withstand anything outdoors.

Can Romex Wire be used outdoors?

Do I have to put UF-B cable into conduit?

No.  Romex wire and cables are only made to be used indoors.  They've been made in the cheapest form possible to minimize costs.  The correct upgrade when going outdoors with the cable if UF-B cable

No. UF-B cable is good for direct burial in the ground.

Does your Romex 14/2 come with a ground wire?

What does THHN and THWN stand for?

Yes.  All of our Romex and UF-B cables come with a ground wire.  If you need a cable without a ground, please specify and we can special order it for you.

Thermoplastic High Heat resistant Nylon coated.  Thermoplastic High Water resistant Nylon coated.  All of our THHN is dual rated THWN as well due to the high demand for both and the minimal cost difference.

What does Romex 12/3 mean?

Do you ship all of you electrical wire from New Hampshire?

Romex specifies the type of cable and the 12/3 is Gauge / # of conductors.  In this case they're 12 gauge wires, and there's 3 of them, NOT including the bare copper ground wire

No. We drop ship from our manufacturers a lot.  South Wire has locations in PA, GA, CA, IN and more.  We do have minimum orders with them so we can only drop ship orders over $500.00 if you need it shipped from a closer location.

Is it possible that your THHN is different then the material I usually buy?

How long does it take WesBell to ship after placing the order?

No.  THHN/THWN is a standard specification that's always made the same, even if it was made from different manufacturers.  WesBell can provide the specs if needed to show it's THHN/THWN and manufactured in the USA.

WesBell ships everything on the same day or day after placement of the order whether it's placed online or over the phone.
